NAS Disk Encryption
 The huge data request in business environment is more and more, so the file backup and share between every employee and division is important. The NAS is a popular system for satisfying the request today. But it is incident to security risk raise due to the NAS often equips RAID that is hot plug hard disk. Hacker can steal the hard disk easily if the server room safety mechanism is not enough. VIA Embedded solution provides the top level data protection for RAID. It uses AES-256 bit to encrypting NAS disk, even the hard disk is stolen, and hacker cannot access the data if he/she does not have the password. The recent explosive growth of PC networking and Internet-based commerce, more and more malware and Trojan horse threaten current computer especially OS kernel file. It will cause the secret data is stolen via network day by day but user is not aware. For example, an IPTV in hotel equips with a media control to get video from network. If malware is planted in the media control by hacker, the valuable video or secret data will become vulnerable. VIA Embedded provides a solution to ensure the system files and critical program files are exactly the same with the mass-production version or the legal updated version during booting process. Secure File Transmission

VIA Embedded solution provides an application agent running in the background which can allow many applications’ file written to disk to be encrypted transparently and many applications’ file read from disk to be decrypted transparently, too. By this way, the applications’ protected file will be secure and the application behavior won’t be affected. Then the encrypted file can be attached in mail or any network transmission and hacker won’t be able to get the file content. ROMOS
There are still many valuable and irreplaceable DOS applications, test utilities and diagnostic tools used in some embedded environments. To support these legacy DOS programs, VIA provides ROMOS with FreeDOS inside. This solution can reduce the DOS installation effort and license fee.
User can choose BIOS boot option for booting to FreeDOS or booting from storage.

VIA embedded provides an easy-to-use virtual disk encryption solution called StrongBox SDK which utilize VIA ACE hardware security engine. The solution can help to avoid the data leak with low performance impact. StrongBox SDK provides an application programming interface (API) that makes it easy for system developers using VIA’s embedded platforms to do further development. StrongBox SDK implemented many basic functions, such as creating/deleting image files, mounting/dis mounting devices, locking/unlocking devices, and so on. StrongBox is a virtual disk encryption application based on StrongBox SDK. It can be free downloaded from VIA website.
